Third generation winemaker, George E. Gregory Wines, grew up on the family wine estate in Morgan Hill, California and began absorbing many aspects of the wine business at a very young age from his father and grandfather. As a teenager, George began broadening his knowledge base by apprenticing with other local winemakers to learn as much as he could about grape growing and winemaking. He also completed Fresno State University's Viticulture and Enology program to supplement his knowledge of traditional winemaking techniques with the more modern aspects required to produce wines for today's marketplace. George's winemaking philosophy remains a blend of age-old tradition and cutting-edge winemaking science and technology. George produces his wines with minimal handling or filtering - believing that the wines are at their best when allowed to develop naturally with only the necessary interventions by the winemaker. He shares his family's strong belief that wines should be easy for everyone to enjoy at a reasonable price. His philosophy has paid off in the many award-winning wines he produces today that have been noted for both quality and value.

The heart and soul of Gregory Wines wines, George is very involved with family, as well as many community organizations. He is a well-known fixture around Morgan Hill with his classic 1957 cherry-red Chevy Cameo Pickup.

Winemaker Alan DeWitt first met the Gregory Wines family in 2002, while leasing winery space to custom crush fruit. At the time, Alan was working for Devine Consultants where he was building and managing small vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains and San Francisco Bay Area since 1996. It was there that he began to learn and appreciate the craft of winemaking. In 2003, Alan joined Gregory Wines Winery as assistant winemaker to George Gregory Wines. Over the years, the Gregory Wines brothers have granted Alan more and more creative freedom over the winemaking process, allowing him to implement new ideas and technologies. In 2007, Alan was given the title of Winemaker at Gregory Wines Winery.
